Ministries at St. Paul Lutheran Church

St. Paul's has several different groups and ministries for adults and children. Everyone is invited to participate in any of these activities.

Congregational Ministries

  • Adult Bible Study
There are currently two Bible study opportunities at St. Paul's. On Sunday at 11:05 we will meet in the chapel and we are currently discussing the Gospel of Mark. The second Bible study group meets on Wednesdays at 6:45pm in the Fellowship Hall. We are following a Bible study guide called The Wired Word. It combines biblical commentary and discussion questions with a topic from the news of the week. It is a way to relate current events with Scripture. No advanced preparation is needed for either of these groups. Everyone is welcome. Please join us!
  • Book ClubBible study

Our church Book Club will begin again on September 28th. “The Shack” by William P. Young will be the September book. “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khalid Hosseini will be the October 26th book and “The Scarlet Thread” by Francine Rivers will be the book for November 23rd. Everyone is welcome for the Book Club discussions.

  • Prayer group
This group is still in the process of forming. The group will meet one day each week for a time of prayer. If you are interested in participating, contact Loree at the church.
  • Spring Supper
The Spring Supper is held each year on the first Sunday in March. This meal of turkey and pork with all the trimmings is served family-style. Everyone is invited to this delicious supper!
  • German Supper
As a fundraiser for Camp of the Cross, St. Paul's serves a German Supper on the last Saturday in April. Please join us for a feast of sausage and sauerkraut, knephla soup, and homemade kuchen.

Choirs
  • Sonshine Choirsonshine choir
Sonshine choir is for children in grades 1 through 6. They practice after school on Wednesdays and sing during worship on the second Sunday of each month.
  • Senior Choir
This choir is composed of adult church members. They meet to practice after Fellowship on Sundays and they sing during worship on the first and third Sunday of each month.
  • Sweet Sounds
Sweet Sounds is a musical group who leads a contemporary worship on the fourth Sunday of each month. This group consists of singers, guitar players, a piano, and drums.
  • Christmas Choir
During the Advent season, St. Paul's forms a Christmas Choir. There are fewer practices and performances than the Senior Choir, so it is a good option of people who would like to sing, but are unable to commit to the Senior Choir schedule. The Christmas Choir begins practice on Wednesday evening, November 5th. They perform in the St. Paul Choir Festival which is held during worship on the second Sunday in December.

Women's Ministries
  • Circle
Three circle groups meet on the first Wednesday of each month for Bible study and fellowship.
  • Women of the ELCA
The Women of the ELCA meet together four times each year for women's programs and their business meeting. All women of the church are invited to participate.
  • Quilting
On the third Tuesday and Wednesday of each month, from September through May, a quilting group meets at the church. The quilters make quilts to be sent to Lutheran World Relief, the Linus Project, and a variety of other charities. They also make baptismal quilts for each child baptized at St. Paul's. In addition, quilts are made for the Camp of the Cross Quilt Auction and the Spring Supper raffle. Everyone is invited to join the quilting group.

Youth
  • Sunday School
Sunday School at St. Paul's is held on Sunday mornings from 11:00 until noon. There are classes for children from 3-years-old through 7th grade. Sunday School runs from September through May.
  • Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a summer educational opportunity for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. We spend time creating religious crafts, learning Bible stories, and singing.
